Hermetic Tarot by Godfrey Dowson
The Hermetic Tarot is a detailed 78-card deck created by Godfrey Dowson and inspired by the esoteric system of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
Unlike brightly colored tarot decks, the Hermetic Tarot uses intricate black and white artwork filled with astrological, Kabbalistic, angelic, geomantic and numerical symbolism. Each card contains layers of correspondences designed to connect tarot with astrology and the Tree of Life.
The deck places particular emphasis on the Golden Dawn's astrological associations. Zodiac signs, planets, elemental symbols and other esoteric markings appear throughout the cards, making them useful not only for readings but also for deeper study of tarot symbolism and occult traditions.
The included 70-page instruction booklet explains the cards and their correspondences. It includes card meanings, a guide to the Celtic Cross spread, elemental and astrological symbol charts, and information relating the tarot to the Tree of Life.
